Initiative, also known as the African Health Net Project, is an
innovative health care program of African Community International
(The African Center, Indianapolis) that works with the
African community of central Indiana to provide solutions to
health care challenges. Funded by the Robert Wood Johnson
Foundation and other central Indiana philanthropic foundations,
the African Health Initiative’s main goal is to decrease the
cultural, institutional, and personal barriers that prevent
Africans and their families from accessing the health care system
and creating sustainable systems of care. The program is available

AHI is an acronym that stands for:
'African Health Initiative' our health program, also known as the
African Health Net Project, an innovative health care program of
African Community International (The African Center,
Indianapolis) that works with the African community of central
Indiana to provide solutions to health care challenges.
No. The African Health
Initiative is similar to a health plan. We only treat people who
are enrolled in our program. We will not pay for treatment at
other hospitals, clinics, or medical treatment facilities.
We have one location for your
needs: The Community Clinic, which is on the fourth floor in the
same building as the African Center. We treat many basic
conditions and provide services like immunization shots,
physicals, lab work, preventive care...just to name a few covered
by our program.

Treatment is free except for
some discounted costs associated with lab work. Filling
prescriptions may involve extra costs.
